Ya got the wrong number...!

Have received a number of messages on my machine for an individual that I have never heard of. The phone number they keep calling belongs to me, not this individual.

All three times they have left messages, I have called them back and explained that they are not calling the correct number and that I do not know who this person is.

Last time I called, today, I got this person named Joe. Despite explaining this is not the home of the person he is seeking, he insisted I give him my name. I explained to 'joe' that since I am not the individual they are looking for, there was no need for them to know anything about me. He became rude and when I interrupted him to reiterate I wanted them to cease the phone calls, he hung up. Really? Each individual I have spoken to at this company has been ignorant and I'm not the one they're looking for. Can you imagine the treatment I'd get if I was?

Maybe management should pay attention to these idiots that cold call people.

Ya got the wrong number

This is the second complaint I have registered. The *** 'joe' from the last phone call of last week called again this morning after me telling him to take my number out of their system and I am not the person they are looking for. Yeah, that would be the *** that hung up on me. They are really *** me off. Can't someone do something to stop this? How many complaints need to be registered for someone to do something. Much like some of the other complaints, live in Canada and do not have any outstanding debts. Why don't they just *** off and stop bothering me.

Horrible Service and Deceptive Practices

Company does not disclose hidden fees (payment processing charges over the phone). Supervisor states they don't have to under FTC rules, you must ask if there are any charges or fees associated. Company also doesn't tell you it takes 10 days to show that account is paid in full and it can take 60-90 days to report that to the credit bureaus. When calling in, you never can get a representative. You either have to leave a call back number or wait on an endless hold.

This company is a completed scam and collaborated with a Mexican time share Roya Elite Vacation Club to commit fraud to people because never provide a service you paid for it and them they send you to this fraudulent and illegitimate collection agency company that commit fraud together with the resort in Mexican and violates customers rights tray to collect debts of unafaithful products also violates customers privacy reviewing all accounts and get personal information such as social security numbers not provided to the Mexican resort. Their customer services representative make harassment calls and speak to you unrespectful to intimidate you! They threat you that they will ruin you credit . Fraud ! Fraud! Fraud ! Scam , Violation of privacy .

Overcharging "processing fee"

I have been trying to pay my loan off sooner. I get charged each month a $6 processing fee, when I paid $1.000 earlier this year I was charged $127 processing fee. Their reason?? They broke the payment down to the amount of monthly payments that $1,000 would equal, then charged me $6 per month. Come on!! It was a larger lump payment... And the customer service person was very rude and unprofessional. Processing a $45 payment or $1,000 payment should not be that more difficult, to warrant such a huge fee. That's crazy to be allowed to do that to your customers. You're getting your money back quicker you'd think that would be a good thing and you wouldn't penalize your customers for paying you back sooner!

Montery Collections

Montery Collections is attempting to collect for Opti Grill. I made a payment to Opti grill for the Grill and Opti Grill Delievered the Product to the wrong address. I did not personally receive the grill and I have no idea who did receive the grill, but it wasn't sent to me therefore, I am not responsible for paying for the Opti Grill. the grill was sent to the wrong mailing address. I tried to talk with Monterey Collections but they were jerks.

They are the worst!!! So rude, they act like we work for them!! I've never been treated so bad with a company. they are thieves....take take take, they still have not resolve my problem and its their fault for not contacting me on the issue. Then they treat me like I didi something to them when I was already going through a bad time with someone compromized my bank account. never again will I work with them for financing anything!!

Extremely unprofessional. An agent from this company left a very threatening message on my phone saying they have attempted to reach me an numerous times. This is the first call I have ever received. I have never received any mail from them and have no idea who they are representing because this agent failed to give the slightest indication what company they are representing when they left a voice message before the first time ever. I called backed immediately and was given the choice of making "a payment" or waiting for a live person. I waited 15 minutes and hung up. Just awful!!!

Scam loan company

I had shocks replaced on my car with brake masters and was told about an interest free when paid before six months loan. Sounded good so I decided to let them fix my car. I assumed they were auto debiting out of my account which is what I heard. I responded to a call and a rep said my payment was late I made arrangements to pay it current and but that was after the 30 day mark. What they did was terminated the interest free not only that but also is charging me a ridiculous if not illegal 183 percent interest rate. I have paid off $500.00 on a $700.00 dollar purchase so I asked the rep what is the balance to pay off she said $863.00 and it is accruing that interest every month. I will never get this bill paid off. Do not do business with this company they are out for your income.

Refused to send me a bill, now refusing to accept payment and still reporting negatively to my credit bureau

I purchased a medical device which was financed through this second hand company, they sent me a coupon book with which to make payments, the idea is you send in each coupon with the corresponding payment via check and that creates a physical payment history of the loan. MY coupon book only had 1 coupon in it. when I requested a new book they tried to charge me $10 to have it printed, somehow we got on with them debiting my checking account each month for double the agreed upon amount of $105/mo to upwards of $200/mo and then they made an error with my card and tried to tell me that my bank had reported my debit card stolen, so they assessed some $80 in additional fees.. at this point I refused to give them another card number and advised them to send me a paper bill for payment in full. they refused. 2 years on and they are still refusing to send me a physical bill of what is owed, or even a statement of any kind. the last person from the company that I spoke with 6 months ago told me "There is no way in *** we are sending you a paper bill, just pay us and be done with it" sorry, but you just refused to bill me, and I'm not sending you a check for something you're not going to bill me for...

Horrible All Around

This company is AWFUL! My original loan was signed with another company and what I signed electronically did not include the "intent to sell" clause. My loan went to Monterey Financial and I have had nothing but problems since. My loan for $2500 turned into owing $6,400!! They are constantly tacking on more fees for the stupidest reasons. It's a wonder if anyone ever pays them off! Their representatives are the rudest people in customer service imaginable. I filed reports with BBB and another consumer affairs company and demanded my account be sold to a far more ethical company and Monterey refused to do so every time. The people call you non stop and harass and threaten you and tell you you are going to do this! Disgusted with this company and how they treat people. DO NOT USE THEM! I researched my original loan company prior to signing loan and they had good reviews. Had I known this company would take over my loan I would have researched them and found these reviews and NEVER would have signed it. Trust me. DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM MONTEREY!

Monterey Financial is by FAR the most disgusting, despicable company I have ever dealt with. All the complaints that I have read here on this website about them are precisely what I have experienced and much, much more.

I would say they are probably understatements based on the way I have been treated by these thieving jerks. It has been so bad that these rip-off rat thieves are on the *** of getting a letter from, not only my attorney but also, my whole attorney firm for all their harassment they have been doing to me for the last few months and for almost a year now. When I was talked into signing up with NoteSchool for their note investments, they set up a payment plan with me. I had no idea they were going to throw this loan over to these rotten low-down lying jerks.

I had nothing to say about it. After this happened, I was told by a Monterey Financial representative that if I ever wanted to change my payment information (for example if I saw that I did not have enough available—the rip off of $600+ I was paying every month—on my credit card) I could call them 24 hours before the payment date and change it.) Well I did that and I was still charged an extra $35 with them saying that anytime my credit card is declined I get charged this $35 dollar charge. DUH! Had they done what I had told them in the time period their representative told me to notify them, there would have NEVER been a decline on any credit card.

This is PRECISELY W-H-Y I updated my payment information with them in the time period in which I was told to do so. I should not be penalized for their STUPIDITY and ineptness. When I called them about the extra $35 wrongful charge, a different representative of theirs told me if I want to change my credit card information, I have to call in 48 hours ahead of time so the right hand definitely does not know what the left hand is doing with one telling me 24 hours and the other telling me 48 hours. I had made the payment (including the $35 which I should not have had to pay) about 2 weeks before this other batch of harassing calls started although I was on schedule with my payments and despite this I kept receiving numerous calls from them telling me that my payment did not go through when it showed up on my credit card statement that the whole amount ($600+ and the *** $35 charge) was deducted about 2 weeks before they started this other batch of harassing calls about that very payment.

When they call, the calls are automated with threats and they ask you to hold and you hold and hold and hold and unless you can hold for about a half hour or more, nobody answers. I work on commission so my time is money. They should be paying me all the time that I am having call them back and/or to unnecessarily waiting for them to come to the phone and accuse me of not paying them which is a TOTAL LIE harassing me about not making payments that I have already made and have my credit card statement for confirmation. I am a business person who pays my bills and strive to use my time intelligently.

I just don’t have time for these garage thieves calling me unnecessarily about payments that I have already made and that have already gone through as seen on my credit card statements! This is not the first batch of harassing calls they have harassed me with. They just keep calling me harassing me when I have made my payments and am on schedule but they claim that I am behind or that my credit card did not go through so they can rip me off more and it is all a TOTAL LIE!!! Not only should these *** thieves be put out of business but they should also be put in prison.

In order to suck in potential clients, they brag on how “successful” they are to make sure they get all their client’s money that is “owing to them.” They are full of BS! And, if a creditor uses them either out of ignorance from not doing their due diligence before hiring them or just from their own stupidity, their business should be shut down, too, for aiding and abetting these thieving criminals. Yes, you are EXACTLY RIGHT—DO NOT E-V-E-R, E-V-E-R, E-V-E-R get a loan from these criminals.

If your creditor puts your debt into the hands of these criminals, call your attorney, contact BBB, post it on this website and all the websites you can, and do whatever you can to get out of it by ALL means!!! We should all get together and have a class-action suit against these thieving criminals!!!

Same deal, this company(MFS) is here to make money period and will do so via late charges and or interests ..My account was sold to this co. And im very disappointed, companies like these, though,will surely make you learn a tough lesson and believe me you will NEVER want to do business with them or even obtain a credit card for that matter again. Watch out for a business name change with these negative feedback they brought upon themselves. Just plain stay away from this hungry business.

Monterey Financial is owned by Bristlecone Financing which also owns WAGS Lending which leases pets to customers from puppy mills. It is owned by Dusty Wunderlich of Reno, NV and the lawyer representing this place is Matthew Digesti. Look into it.
